ADVICE TO NEW GROUPS. CREATE A "PARTNERSHIP"
WITH THE COUNCIL-------------------------Develope contacts in all departments. Utilise sympathetic department managers. Get the local Council on your side. Invite departments or a councilor to meetings. ASK What can council do ? What can the Neighbourhood Watch do ? With the Police------------------------------Cultivate your Neighbourhood Beat Officer/ Community Police Officer. Develope a Drugs Squad contact. Collect information for police action. Write to Divisional Chief Inspector-- with complaint and thanks. With Landlords-----------------------------Get addresses and telephone numbers---local Associations and idividuals. Keep them informed of problems in their proerty. With other groups------------------------ Involve Youth groups. Discuss problems/ ideas and exchange views with every group. REACT Request--------------------------a solution to specific problems. Explain--------------------------how it causes difficulty/ danger to residents. Ask---------------------------------for update of situation regularly. Complain-----------------------if no response. Thank----------------------------whatever the result. but do not REACT aggressively. |
